Tuvok uses Vulcan Mind-Meld for the First Time

LOG LINE: Upon visiting a world in the midst of a war with a
neighboring planet, Lt. Tom Paris finds himself accused of a murder he
didn't commit... his sentence--to relive the crime from the victim's
point-of-view every 14 hours for the rest of his life. It is up to
Tuvok to prove his innocence by using the Vulcan Mind-Meld before this
sentence destroys his sanity.

SYNOPSIS: Harry Kim and Tom Paris visit the home world of the
Baneans, a people locked in a war with the nearby Numiri. They do so
in order to meet with the head of military science, Tolen Ren, to
discuss potential scientific advances that may help the Voyager
find a faster way back to Federation Space. While at Ren's home, Paris
becomes attracted to Lidell, his much younger wife, and ultimately ends
up being blamed for her husband's brutal murder. His sentence... to
re-live the violent moment of the crime from the victim's perspective
for the rest of his life.

Upon hearing of this, Captain Janeway and Tuvok rush to his aid on the
planet. Tuvok takes the investigation in hand, and through the Vulcan
Mind-Meld, discovers the proof that Tom will need to clear his name,
and regain his freedom from the images that are destroying his mind.
At the same time, they uncover a Numiri plot to destroy the Banean
people.

The Stars Speak:
[[8/29]] Roxann Dawson:
What was your most embarrassing moment on the show?
Want to know what my most embarrassing moment on the show is? Really, you
know what it was? LeVar Burton came on to direct. And you know, I go,
"Hey, engineer and engineer, we're gonna bond, you know." And I was like,
really excited. I hadn't met him. He was coming on to direct. But this
was a show where I had only two lines. [unintelligible] you get two lines
you don't do anything in it. But there I am. I come on the stage, I'm
going to be directed by LeVar Burton and he gives me these looks like
engineer/engineer. And I get out there and I... Even got like a reporter
out there for some reason covering this particular day. I couldn't say the
lines. I had only two lines in this show and for some reason I kept
stumbling over them. He finally had to take me by my shoulders and walk me
around going, "It's okay." I wanted to go, "I've been doing it, I've been
doing it! I swear to God!" Thinking he's getting just the most awful
impression of me. It was, "Vent a couple of LN2 exhaust conduits along the
dorsal emitters." I couldn't say that! (laughter) Can you? (more
laughter). "Vent a couple of LN2 exhaust conduits along the dorsal
emitters." You know, that's the only line now that I remember of the show?
And of course, of course, the guy writing the article writes, "...and
Roxann Dawson, having major problems with her lines, and LeVar Burton,
comforting her..." and I'm going, "Oh, great!" This is the reputation I'm
going to get. I'm not able to do this. But that was embarrassing, I mean,
in front of LeVar and all that.
