This Site
As professional Web site designers and producers our preference is to use the Macintosh and all the tools available for that platform. Here's what we used for this site.

Image Software
Adobe Photoshop
It's still one of the best pieces of software ever written.

Equilibrium Debabelizer
This is nearly as groovy as Photoshop. Difficult to learn but if you want to make 300 gif images while you pop down the road for a coffee... this is your baby! HEY! and version 3.0 has just come out.

HTML Editors
BBEdit
4.5.1a is the latest version and it still rocks. Good clean code, you really can't beat it.

File Transfer Protocol
Fetch
Excellent Macintosh FTP client. The drag and drop function is happiness indeed.

Site Design & Management Tool
Macromedia Dreamweaver
We've tried them all -- even paid good money for them; NetObjects Fusion, CyberStudio but this is the first time we've seen a really good layout tool that doesn't mess with your nice clean HTML/JavaScript/BBEdit code. We like it... we like it a lot. What's more it's cross-platform, yah gotta like that.

Servers
This is running on a Mac. We've been using Macs as our main servers for over a year. They rock. They are easy to maintain, 100% reliable and they can take anything that most people can throw at them. This server is running Tenon's WebTen 2.0 -- a very groovy port of Apache to the Mac.
